Xtend is a slow release fertiliser range that uses inhibitor technology to slow down the release of nitrogen for up to three months.
This technology comes in two forms, NBPT which prevents the loss of nitrogen to the atmosphere due to volatilisation, and DCD which slows down the conversion of ammonium to nitrate in the soil. Ammonium nitrogen is held more efficiently as it binds to the clay and organic matter.
